Marissa Shipman technically founded theBalm Cosmetics in 2004 but it really began a few years earlier when she bought 11 books on "how to make makeup" and began mixing in her kitchen. Today, the products are no longer made anywhere near her kitchen and you won't find their "recipes" in any book. theBalm boasts a full line of amazing color cosmetics along with a complete set of skincare and 33 nail polishes. The brand is known for its high quality, multipurpose products that are branded with clever, woman-empowering slogans in retro-inspired packaging. All products are cruelty free and made in the USA.
